Funeral services for Mrs. LEONA BESS FANNING, age 84, were held Saturday from the Saint Jo Church of Christ with Elder WINSTEAD COOPER and JOHN RAYMOND officiating. Interment in Dye Mound cemetery was conducted by Dunbar-Daugherty Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fanning died Friday in a Wichita Falls hospital. Born in Henderson County February 7, 1868, she was married to J. H. BESS in 1886. To this union was born four children: HUGH BESS of Comanche, Okla., CLYDE BESS, Mrs. ETHEL SMITH and Mrs. S. F. MARTIN, all of Saint Jo, and all surviving. Mr. Bess died in 1932.

She later married E. B. FANNING in 1839 and he passed away in 1949. She united with the Church of Christ at an early age. Mrs. Fanning is survived by her four children, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were BILL BESS, L. B. VANZANDT, LUTHER MARTIN, ALVIN MARTIN, HUGH MARTIN and NEELEY BINGHAM.
