Ergie Jane Owen of Wagoner died Tuesday, September 3, 1998, in Chouteau at the age of 84 years. She was born February 8, 1914 in Wagoner County to Frank and Martelia Roberts . Ergie married Orval Lee Owen on June 16, 1931 in Wagoner who preceded her in death on June 20, 1992. She was also preceded in death by one son, Lewis Owen on July 28, 1983 and one great grand-daughter , Sarah Burk.
Ergie was a member of the Church of God for many years. She enjoyed quilting, canning, crocheting and flowers, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ergie is survived by her children, Josephine Coblentz and husband, Thomas of Mazie, Ok. Katherine Parks of Deer Park, N.Y., Lee Richardson of Wagoner, Patricia Burk and husband, Bud of Mazie, Lonnie Owen of Los Angeles, CA., Maxine Owen of Broken Arrow, Geraldine Dillingham and husband, Ron of Wagoner, Jarrett Owen and wife, Patsy of Wagoner, Gerry Owen and wife, Sharon of Mazie, Cherry Dry and husband Walt of Mazie, and Tony Owen and wife, Kathy of Wagoner; thirty four grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren; brothers, Sylvester Roberts of Washington and Loran Roberts of Arizona.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 1998 in the Church of God with Rev. Carl Murphy officiating and Rev. Jeff Eason assisting.
Pallbearers will be Steve and Bill Coblentz, Dennis and Mike Burk, Brian Rider, Gerry, Mark, Kevin , Eric and Dean Owen , Aaron Dry and Gene Parks. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
