James Edward BAKER was born in Paxton Twp., Ross Co., Ohio; his parents' 3rd child. On Nov. 26, 1862, in Pike Co, Ohio; he married Sarah Jane CAMERON (daughter of John CAMERON and Fanny DAVIS CAMERON).
They had 8 children: Virginia 'Belle' m FISHER; Ada Allen m DAUGHTERS; Benjamin Cameron; America 'Blanche' m JOHNSON; John 'Otto'; Charles P; James 'Orin'; and Hattie Jane m BOSTWICK.
In the early 1800's they moved with other Highland, Pike and Ross county families to northwestern Missouri. In 1909 when his father died they were living in Savannah Co, Missouri.
Later they moved to California settling in Stanislaw County.
Same stone as Sarah J. Baker, his wife.
