Winnie Marie Martin Rouse, 86, of Seven Mile Ford, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008, in the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. She was born in Washington County, Va., on June 9, 1921, to the late Arthur T. and Winnie Jeanette Anderson Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer C. Rouse; one daughter, Linda R. Rambo; two brothers, Earl Martin and Wiley Martin; and a sister, Nada Reid. She was a Member of the Middlefork Baptist Church and a Faithful Charter Member of the Home Extension Club. Survivors include, four daughters, Jeanie Evans and husband, Paul, Groseclose, Va., Doris Blevins and husband, Mike, Seven Mile Ford, Va., Nancy Palmer and husband, George, Seven Mile Ford, Va., and Emily Draper and husband, Mark, Bristol, Va.; one brother, L. Baker Martin and wife, Carolyn, Charlotte, N.C.; one son-in-law, Jack Rambo, Groseclose, Va.; 12 grandchildren, James Rambo, Amy Walls, Melanie Rambo, Christy Rambo, Willie Russell, Joey Russell, Heather Pruitt, Valerie Warner, Derrick Blevins, Casey Palmer, Nehemiah Draper and Rachel Draper; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, from the Bradley's Funeral Chapel, 307 Old Stage Road, Chilhowie with the Rev. Roscoe Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the Middlefork Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 15, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Bradley's Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the family of Mrs. Rouse.
