MATILDA ELIZABETH JURGENS, age 92, formerly of New Paris, OH., died Friday, September 17, 1999 at Heritage House of Richmond, Indiana where she has resided since April 5, 1994. Born on July 7, 1907 in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Bernard & Elizabeth (Westendorf) Weiss. She retired in 1972 from Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond; Past President of the P.T.A. of Jefferson Twp. Schools; Y.M.I. Auxiliary of Richmond; New Paris Triple L. Club; Preble County Democrat Club; past member of Pleasant Hill Community Club; Wayne County Women's Bowling Association; St. Ann's Sodility and St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris. Preceded in death by her Husband: Irvin C. Jurgens in 1974; a Daughter: Deborah Copenhefer in 1987; a Grandson and a Great Grandson; also nine Brothers & Sisters.

Survivors include a Son & Daughter-In-Law: Paul and Donna Jurgens, New Paris, OH; Daughters & Son-In-Law: Lois J. Mendenhall, Venice, FL; Janice A. & Bill Dargie, Richmond, IN; 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

A Prayer Service will be held at 12:30P.M. (Ohio Time) on Monday September 20, 1999 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00P.M. (Ohio Time) in the St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris with Rev. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19, 1999 from 4 to 7P.M. (Ohio Time) at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Northwest Emergency Unit or St. John's Catholic Church in New Paris.
