JOHN W. GUSTIN PIONEER COUNTY RESIDENT, DEAD
John W. Gustin, age 86, resident of Madison county all of his life, died of complications today at 7:20 a.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Morton Robey, 408 Central Avenue. Mr. Gustin had been in failing health for several years. He had been in a critical condition for two weeks. Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Robey home. Burial will be at Pendleton. Mr. Gustin is survived by four children, Mrs. Mary E. Crosley, of Pendleton, Mrs. Cora Robey, at whose home he died; C.O. Gustin residing on R.R. 3, Anderson, and Hugh Gustin of this city; two brothers, Sam and Henry Gustin, twelve grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. His wife, Francena Gustin, died four years ago.
Mr. Gustin was born May 24, 1842, where the Lamper home is located southwest of the city on the Seybert road. He had farmed in the community south and southwest of Anderson for many years, retiring about fifteen years ago from a farm on the Main street road. Mr. Gustin was a member of the Whetstone Chapel Church.
