Francis J. Scaramucci
May 28, 1929 - November 25, 2022
Francis Joseph Scaramucci passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at Arbor House. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Mass and funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Francis was born and grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Francis married Gloria J. Segilia October 1, 1955. Francis was the father of four children, grandfather of 11, and great-grandfather of 21, and great-great-grandfather of one. Francis joined the United States Air Force in 1949, where he specialized in radar. Francis later worked his way into an administrative position which Francis used to advance his military career.

Francis retired from the Air Force in 1979 as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Air Force Electronic Security Command Europe. Francis was a Korean and Vietnam War Veteran. Some of his best stories and memories were as the First Sargent of a C-130 Gun Ship squadron out of Ubon, Thailand. Francis always said in his 30-year military career he never had a bad assignment.

A few facts that most who knew him might not know: Francis went by many names in his lifetime. As a kid in Norristown, Penn., he was known as Teet. This was out of respect for his godfather, Atilio Lutz. Through his military career, Francis was known as Chief, Mooch, and Coach. As a young man Francis attended the Seminar in New York and played baseball for the now Reading Phillies. Francis was a master of any sport he played. In his early years, while playing baseball in the Air Force, he was flown to different bases to play for multiple teams on the same day. Francis could drop kick a football for a 40-yard field goal and throw a football even further. Francis was the tennis instructor on the base in Albuquerque, N. M., and a competitive golfer. Francis was a pool shark, and a master of ping pong and darts. His competitiveness also made him a master on the playing table. From spades, to bid whist, cribbage, poker, and even destroying his grandkids playing go fish, dominoes, and chess. In his later years, while working in the lease-to-purchase car business, Francis unbelievably knew the vin number of every car on the sales lot. Francis also was a great cook, specializing in homemade Italian.

Most of all in life Francis loved being the husband to Gloria (his true love), his family, God, baseball, good food, friends, an American patriot, and being a Scaramucci and also part of the Segilia family. The order of importance would be hard to say.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Agnes Scaramucci; his brother, Julius Scaramucci; his sisters, Elizabeth Antonelli and Jane Ciccarelli; his in-laws, Joseph and Elsie Segilia; and brothers-in-law Edward, John, Jim, Harry, and Frederick Segilia.

Francis is survived by his daughters, Gayle Brown and Dana Newell (1957-2023); sons, Louis Scaramucci and John Scaramucci; sons-in-law, Daryl Brown, Sr., and Rodney Newell; daughter-in-law, Kathie Scaramucci; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons Joseph Scaramucci, Matthew Scaramucci, Daryl Brown, Jr., Justin Glass, Jordan Glass, and Jack Glass, and great-grandsons, John Scaramucci and Jayce Glass.

In lieu of Flowers Dad would be pleased with anything you may donate to St Mary's Catholic Church Waco's Maintenance Fund!
