Margaret, born September 21, 1922, was the daughter of Ruth Anna Sipple and Charles Donnan Holzmueller. Margaret grew up in Milford, Delaware where she played basketball, tennis, played the piano, and enjoyed horseback riding and ice skating. She also spent the summers swimming, canoeing, crabbing and enjoying the beaches in Delaware. Margaret attended the University of Delaware and graduated from a business school in Delaware.
While Margaret was attending an enlisted service member dance, held in early spring at a nearby base, she met George, the commanding officer, who had slipped into the dance to "chaperon" his men. The rest is history. They were married September 25, 1943 in the Holzmueller home in Milford Delaware.
Margaret and George made their home in Suffolk Virginia, where they enjoyed raising their three kids, attending all of their swimming and diving meets, tennis tournaments, football and basketball games and spending time on the beach in Sandbridge. While in Suffolk, Margaret played in her Bridge Club, was a Suffolk Christian Church Circle Leader, a Girls Scout Leader, and Suffolk Women's Golf Association Leader.
Margaret and George later retired in Florida and made Isla Del Sol their home for over 20 years. While living in Florida, Margaret enjoyed the beach, playing cards, playing golf, dancing at the club, and going out to eat. She had her one and only "hole-in one" while playing the golf course at Isla Del Sol.
In December of 2003 Margaret and George returned to Suffolk ,Virginia, and made Lake Prince Woods their home. Margaret sharpened her card skills and thoroughly enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, social bridge, Spite Malice, poker, and having Happy Hour with many friends. Margaret had a beautiful alto voice and sang in the Lake Prince Woods choir.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her granddaughters Mary Donnan Debranski and Megan Debranski Kelhart; sister Ruth Ann Chancellor Mahood; and brother Charles Donnan Holzmueller, Jr.
