Douglas "Doogie" Fabert 1953—2021

Doug passed away Thursday, Jan 7th peacefully at home. Doug was born on June 19, 1953 in Guttenberg, Iowa and moved to Rockford at age 11. Doug graduated from Auburn high school. Doug was blessed enough to have met his soul mate, Deb, at the age of 17. Doug & Deb were married for 48 wonderful years and had two sons, Don & Dan, whom they adored. Doug worked for Logli Supermarket for 40 years & retired in 2015. Doogie was an avid Cubs fan, die hard Bears fan, & loved to golf. Above all, Doug never missed a baseball game or volleyball match of his grandkids, Zach & Emily. He was always their biggest fan. Papa Doogie will be missed dearly. Doug was pre-deceased by his parents, Louis & Bernice Fabert, brother Mike Fabert, & the love of his life, Deb Fabert. Doug is survived by sons, Don (Heidi) Fabert , Dan Fabert, & beloved grandchildren, Zach & Emily Fabert. Doug also leaves behind loving siblings: Virginia, (Jim) Riggs, Cathy, (Mike) Braaten, Clark, (Phyllis) Fabert, Marlene Zellner, Darlene Fabert, Wendy, (Dan) Stata, & RuthAnn, (Jim) Keeling.
