Robert Alonzo Woodrum passed from this life on November 25, 2022 at his home in Shattuck, OK. at the age of 98 years. He was the son of Alonzo and Lydia (Irons) Woodrum and his life began in Hardesty, OK. on November 3, 1924. Robert grew up with seven siblings and attended school in Hardesty graduating with the class of 1943. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He completed his service to his country and received his honorable discharge in 1946.
In 1948 Robert was united in marriage to Lois Fern Trent, the love of his life for over seven decades. Their union was blessed with three children, Rebecca, Roberta and Robert. He worked for the Oklahoma Highway Department for 33 years and retired as the Division Construction Engineer as head of all roadway construction in Northwest Oklahoma. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma. Hardesty remained home until 1979. From 1979 to 1993 the family resided in Buffalo, OK. followed by moves to Perryton, TX. in 1993 and a final move to Shattuck, OK. in 2005. Robert was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Kiwanis club organizations and his hobbies were bowling and playing golf. He was baptized as a young adult and was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church. He always enjoyed spending time with his family whenever possible.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alonzo and Lydia Woodrum, his siblings Paul Woodrum, Leroy Woodrum, Jewel Banks, Edith Matheson, Naomi Hillis, Verda Cooper and Rinda Bartlett; great granddaughter Bella Grace Woodrum; two sons-in-law Donald Logue and Gary Chance and other loved ones.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Lois of Shattuck, OK., his children Rebecca Logue of Snyder, TX., Roberta Chance of Shattuck, OK. and Robert Woodrum and his wife Margaret of Katy, TX. Six grandchildren, Kevin Chance, Karie House and husband Raymond, Kelly Vess and wife Megan, Kylene Rehder and husband Cody, Kate Anderson and husband Callen and Mike Woodrum and wife Mary Shannon. Great grandchildren Krystin Wells and husband Blu, Kyler, Kaden and Kolten Vess, Blaine and Brandt House, Logan McConnel, Kinley and Blakely Rehder and Bridget Woodrum. Several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends
