Roger attended school in Iaeger and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force, where he retired as a Tech Sergeant. Following a long and rewarding career in the Air Force, he also served in Civil Service for 23 more years. During his time in the military, he was able to travel the world, including his favorite spot of Bermuda for three years. In his spare time he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was very proud of his brotherhood in the Masonic Lodge AF & AM, where he reached level 32 status.
He was married to Joyce Chapman Perdieu for 30 years, prior to her death in 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. Survived by his sister, Anita Roberts of Chicago, IL; daughter, Lorie Ann Perdieu of Kansas City, MO; his son, Timothy Gerald Perdieu and wife, Melissa of Blue Springs, MO; and three grandchildren: Blake, Gabrielle and Bryce.
Family and friends will gather at the Meyers Northland Chapel at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, where a formal funeral procession will leave for Leavenworth National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m., where military honors will be presented under the auspices of the United States Air Force Honor Guard and urn placement will take place at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
