Mrs. R. E. Jones, Mother of Banker, Dies at 84

Mrs. Laura A. Jones, mother of R. Emmett Jones, vice president of the First National bank and First Trust Co., died last night at her home, 2809 Lafayette street. She was 84 years old.
She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan county and has lived in St. Joseph for 30 years. Her parents were pioneer settlers in Buchanan county. On June 24 of this year she and her husband, Robert E. Jones celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Surviving in addition to her husband and son, are four other sons, Roy L. Jones, Joplin, MO.; Raymond S. Jones, Kansas City, Mo.; Floyd L. Jones, Agency, Mo.; and Harold D. Jones, San Francisco, Cal.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. McClanahan, Gower, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. The body is at the Heaton Bowman mortuary.
The body will be removed form the Heaton bowman mortuary to the family home at 2809 Lafayette street this afternoon and will be returned to the mortuary tomorrow morning where funeral services will be conducted at 2 tomorrow after noon,. Dr,. Adiel J. Moncrief will officiate. Burial will be at Frazier, Mo.
