Betty Jean Brannan, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, November 19, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her children.

Born January 17, 1935, in Harrison, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Walter McKinley and Bertha Luella (Gay) Flippo. She was raised and received her education in Harrison. She met the love of her life, Marion "Bud" Boyle and the two married in 1950. Bud preceded her in death on February 5, 1968, leaving five children.

Betty had various jobs, from waiting tables, working as a nurse's aide and medical aide, and working as a receptionist for Milton Nida Chiropractor. Betty went to LPN School and worked for Dr. Nemmers until his retirement. She then opened Grandma Betty's Daycare in her home. She loved all the children as her own, continuing to operate the daycare until her health declined. In 1980, Betty married Lowell "Marvin" Brannan, gaining three step-children. Marvin preceded her in death on June 12, 2013.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Betty was preceded in death by sisters, Freda Wheeler, Jewel Edmondson, and Helen Wilson, and brothers, Walter Flippo and Raymond Flippo.

Her family includes her children, James "Bud" Boyle; Kathy Boyle Martin; Susan Boyle Black; John Boyle and wife, Vicki; Ron Boyle and wife, Julie; her step-children, Steve Brannan; Marsha Brannan Weston and husband, Bob; Greg Brannan and wife, Janet; her 23 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, "adopted" children, nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors from 4 to 6 that evening.

A memorial has been established in Betty's name for St. Jude Children's Hospital.
