Larry Duane Armstrong of Oklahoma City passed peacefully on November 19, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born February 8, 1940, in Carmi, Illinois. He later moved to Booneville, AR where he met the love of his life, Gail Walker Armstrong. They married March 31, 1957. Larry served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1962, serving in Saudi Arabia and Plattsburg, New York.

Upon discharge from the military Larry began a long career in the oil and gas industry. The work he loved allowed him to travel the world. He was an avid reader and a lover of sports, especially the Oklahoma Sooners. Larry was always ready to offer a joke and a laugh, always accompanied by his contagious smile. He loved living in Healdton Oklahoma where he was a business owner and involved in many civic and community organizations. Larry had a special place in his heart for the kids of Healdton.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Lester Lantz, his mother, Ella Venita Thomas, his brother Graydon Lantz, his sister Sue Lantz, and his niece Christina Anderson.

He is survived by his loving wife Gail Armstrong, his son Ed Armstrong and wife Julie, his daughter Leslie Quick and husband Danny, and his daughter Angela Cosby and husband Darin, all of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his siblings Donna and Bill Anderson, Gene Lantz and Pat Herndon.

Cherished Papa of Zach, Casey, and Claire Armstrong, Hollie Fansler, Jessica Moore, Emily and Bo Ballard, Abby, and Jackson Cosby. Larry was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Armstrong Family Scholarship Fund for Healdton graduates. Checks should be made payable to Angela Cosby, Special Account, put Armstrong Family Scholarship Fund in the memo. Send donations to First Bank & Trust Co., Attention Melissa Hudson P.O. The Armstrong family will be greeting friends at a visitation for Larry on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. Come-and-go visitation will be held following from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral celebration service will occur Friday, November 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will occur in Booneville, AR at Oak Hill Cemetery on Saturday, November 26 at 12 p.m.
