Joseph W. Hadley 45, of Taylorville resident of this city for the last 21 years, dies, funeral Thursday, he died on June 2, 1968 at St. Vincents Hospital where he had been a patient for since May 28.
A native of Witt, Joseph Hadley was born September 10, 1921, a son of Joseph and Stella V. Howard Hadley. He was married several years ago to Myrtle Landers. He was a veteran of World War II in the US Army. He was employed at Manson Machine Company in Taylorville.
He was survived by his widow Myrtle, seven children, Mrs. Dan (Karen) Lowis and Mrs. Lonnie (Marcia) England both of Taylorville. Joseph, David, Paul, Wayne and Violet all at home. Also surviving are his mother Stella Hadley of Taylorville, three brothers, Herbert Hadley of Taylorville, James Hadley in the US Army stationed in North Carolina and Harold Hadley of Witt, and a sister Mrs. Raymond Cullen of Witt and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and infant son Richard and infant daughter Margaret. The funeral was held at Shafer Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Frazier of Davis Memorial Church officiated. Burial was at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
