George William Brantner, 84, died Jan. 29 [1965] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Neva Ripley. He was born Sept. 10, 1880 in Robertson County and had lived in Manvel before moving to Alvin three months ago.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Neva Ripley; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Lee of Houston and Mrs.Sue Comer and Mrs. Minnie Jones of Bremond: three granddaughters, Mrs. Dolores Foster of Fort Worth, Mrs. Barbara Salberg [Solberg] of Mobile, Ala., and Mrs. Carolyn Hayden of Fort Worth; four grandsons, George Ray Baldwin and Louis Baldwin of Fort Worth, Sidney M. Havard of California, and R. J. Havard of Kansas; 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews. [A brother, Roy Leslie Brantner also survived.]
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Jan. 31 from the First Baptist Church of Alvin, with the Rev. R. G. Camp officiating. Burial was in Manvel Cemetery under the direction of the Froberg Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were Hubert Brantner, Joe Bill Brantner, Pete Brantner, Jack Brantner, Reese Brantner, Johnny Brantner, Robert Brantner, Charles Brantner, and Wilburn Brantner.
