Mrs. Hegwer was born July 17, 1922 in Charlie, Texas; the daughter of Carl William Boyce and Hattie A. (Wright) Boyce.
She came to Artesia in 1927 from Texas. On April 23, 1946 she was married to Paul Hegwer in Carlsbad, NM.
She was a receptionist for Navajo Refining. A member of First Baptist Church, and past President of Desk and Derrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include her husband Paul Hegwer of the family home; son Ernie Hegwer and wife Sandra of Hobbs, N.M.; daughters Paulette Palma and husband Ed of Las Cruces, N.M., Connie Mermis and husband Lelan of Midland, Texas, and Jo Morgan and husband Doug of Artesia; brother Robert Dean Boyce and wife Betty Lou of Artesia; sisters Linda Bland and husband Don of Hobbs, and Billie Haynes and husband Phil of Del Rio, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
