John Luse, one of the county's pioneer residents, died at his home five miles north of Flora. Death was caused by a stroke suffered last Thursday.

Mr. Luse had been a resident of Clay County for nearly 60 years. He was born in Benton County, Ohio, but came here at an early age. He was 76 years old at the time of his death.

During his many years in this county he became one of the best known men of the community. He engaged in farming throughout his life.

He is survived by the widow and seven children.

Funeral services had not been made this afternoon, but further information may be obtained from the Hancock Funeral Home this evening.
