MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - William A. Bates, 26, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at his mother's home in Gerrardstown, W.Va.
Born Jan. 10, 1975, in Cobleskill, N.Y., he was the son of Irma Jones Bates of Gerrardstown and the late Arthur C. Bates.
He was formerly employed by Schewel's Furniture Co. and with H.S.D. in Frederick, Md.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Joseph Bates of Connecticut; one sister, Laura Nadelman of Taftsville, Conn.; his grandmother, Edith Bates of Dorloo, N.Y.; a nephew; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services, and burial in Dorloo Cemetery, will be private.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
