Adan Gutierrez Romero, 84, resident of Belen passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Monday, May 5, 1975, following a short illness. He was born on October 29, 1891, the son of Pilar (Gutierrez) and Martin Romero.

Adan was a World War I veteran. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and American Legion.

He was a charter member of Belen Knights of Columbus and the Belen Senior Citizens Club.

Adan was the former water superintendent for the City of Belen.

He was a retired Santa Fe Railway employee.

Adan is survived by his wife, Excelsa Pena "Elsie" (Baca), of the family home; three daughters, Eva Silva of Albuquerque; Lyrie Torres, and Dora Tabet, both of Belen; two sons, Adam S. Romero of La Mesa, CA, and Bobby Romero of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
