GRAND SALINE — Services for Bennie Barker, 70, Grand Saline, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bartley Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy C. Newburn officiating.
Burial will be in Central Cemetery near Grand Saline.
Mr. Barker died late Saturday in a Smith County shooting.
A native and lifelong resident of the Grand Saline area, he was a retired farmer and former employee of Morton Salt Company.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Barker, Dierks, Ark.; three daughters, Mrs. Wanda Fisher and Mrs. Joyce Savage, both of Grand Saline, and Mrs. Helen Knight, Longview; a brother, Billy Paul Barker, Canton; seven sisters, Mrs. Alta Preston and Mrs. Leota Winstead, both of Fort Worth, Mrs. Juanita Norris and Mrs. Cleo Smith, both of Garland, Mrs. Oscar Bailey, Grand Saline, Mrs. Ethel Armstrong, Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Hutton Armstrong, Bell, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ken Turner, Richard Easley, Casey Briggs, Dennis Barker, Robert Bradley and Ronnie Bradley.

His death certificate says he died at Wood Memorial Hospital in Mineola, Texas, from a gunshot wound on the left side, approximately 2 inches below shoulder blade.
