He was born on December 28, 1944 in Batavia, New York the son of the late Anna Cook and he was raised by his grandmother Isabelle Cook. He married the love of his life Terri Houghton on June 26, 2017. He was employed by the Bosch Power Tools in Conrad, Texas.
Dale served in the USMC from May 2, 1963 through May 1, 1967. Sergeant E-5 Dale T. Houghton was a proud Marine who served his country in the Vietnam War. Dale was presented with the Air Medal with bronze numeral 13. A Naval Accommodation Medal with the combat "V", Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit citation (Gallantry Cross), Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Civil Action 1st Class), Combat Air crew Insignia with 3 stars, Rifle expert badge and Pistol Expert badge.
Dale remained a proud Marine his entire life. He raised his family to live with Respect, Pride, and Honor.
He will forever remain in our hearts!

Dale will have a burial of cremains at Hornell Rural Cemetery with Military Honors on October 1, 2022 at 12:00 pm. Carpenter's Funeral Home, Corning, New York has been entrusted with the arrangements.
