After graduating from Valley High School, David enlisted into the Air National Guard where he became a firefighter and was stationed in Korea for two years, he later retired from the Albuquerque Fire Department in 1996.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Del and Lydia Alarid, his grandson, Jacob Alarid and his sister, Rita Sánchez.
David is survived by his children, Zachary Alarid and Elishia (Josh) Lucas, grandchildren, Oliver and Kailey Alarid, Steven and Elijah Lucas, great-grandson, Grayson Luca, former spouse of 25 years, Dusty Alarid, brothers, Del (Kaylene) and Rick (Martha) Alarid and Al Sánchez and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family thanks David's brother firefighters who all stood by his side giving him comfort and many laughs. Many great thanks to Elishia, Jesse Valdez and Dusty for their tender care of David over the last year of his life.
Rest in peace David, you are dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
