He was born March 30, 1919, in Moweaqua, Ill., to Roy and Nora (Blue) Adams. He married Margaret E. Krajnok on Jan. 12, 1940, in Moweaqua, Ill. She preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (and Robert) Flynn of Orland Park, Ill., and Kathy (and Paul) Mellen of Morton, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mike Adams, and four brothers and four sisters.
He served in the Navy during WWII.
Rex worked 37 years for Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1978 as a supervisor of tractor assembly in East Peoria.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton, where military rites will be conducted.
