MORTON - William "Bill" I. Patterson, age 47, of Morton passed away on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Symphony of Lincoln in Lincoln, Ill.

Bill was born on March 18, 1966, in Forest City, Ill., to William R. and Beverly Patterson. They both preceded him in death.

Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1993. He then worked for Wal-Mart in Peoria for the last 21 years.

Bill made many friends and was a great friend to have. He was a quiet person until you got to know him; once you became his friend he would good-naturedly joke and tease with you.

Bill was a man of great faith which helped him through many hard times. He met with a prayer group on Tuesday mornings and attended services twice a week. Bill was an avid baseball fan, having been disappointed for decades over his beloved Cubs.

He enjoyed bowling, reading books on history, British sitcoms and spending time with his friends.

He will be greatly missed.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to stroke awareness. Online condolences may be made through www.remmertfuneralhome.com.
