Emma Marie Ravert was born Dec 2, 1859 at Mackinaw, Illinois. She married William H Ravert in 1874, and they came to Cheyenne Co in 1887 homesteading east of school District #114. Emma taught at District #114 and District #20 and at the Ingwerson and Miller Schools. The Raverts had three children: Lottie (Rowan), Lee and Charles. The first community Sunday School was held in 1904 in a little stone school house tht stood half a mile west of town with Emma as the superintendent. She was a charter member of the Dalton Presbyterian Church. William passed away in 1893 and Emma April 6, 1933.

Her death certificate shows her middle name was Annetta and she was born in Williamstown, Ohio.
