John was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 11, 1948, to Oliver Truex and Myra (Baer) Davies (both deceased). His happy childhood was shared with seven siblings: Barbara (Bob) Watson, of Roy, Utah; Carol (deceased, Keith H.) Ruesch, of Huntsville, Utah; Elder Dean M. (deceased, Darla J.) Davies, of Draper, Utah; Debra (Lynn) Cheney, of North Salt Lake, Utah; Diana M. (Paul) Halliday, of Farmington, Utah; David (Jeannie P.) Davies, of Heber City, Utah; and Myra Kay Valentine (deceased).
EDUCATION
Raised and educated in Bountiful, Utah. As a teen, spent summers working on Idaho's dry wheat farms. Passionate about auto. mechanics and participated in football and musicals as a Viewmont Viking.
CAREER
Held a variety of jobs over the course of his life, from grocery store manager, EMT, Yamaha / Kawasaki franchise dealership owner, sewer inspector and member of the District Board of Trustees, RV service manager, and Ford line mechanic, to sales of manufactured homes, which he did alongside his wife, Carol, each Winter in Yuma.

Member, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Adored every size / shape of puppy dogs. Singing; impersonating Kenny Rogers. Listening to Gentri, Pentatonix and Broadway musicals---favorites were Toddler on the Roof, Led Miserables and Phantom of the Opera. Loved Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper and home-cooked meals. Maintained a beautiful yard and an immaculate car.
SERVICES
Viewings were held Monday, November 14 at Russon Brothers' Bountiful Mortuary and Tuesday, November 15, 2022, followed by his funeral at the Bountiful Tenth Ward building, 1145 North 200 East. Interment: Bountiful Cemetery.
