First married to Charles or Karl Kiesel (many different spellings). The 1850 census shows them in Elk Grove, Cook County, Iowa. They had six known children, who seem to have been born at Elgin, Illinois between 1850 and 1863.

Charlotte was married to William Homire some time between 1863 and 1867. They had two children born in Illinois: Lewis and Anna (untraceable after 1885). They were living in Eldorado township, Benton County, Iowa in 1870. Charlotte, widowed, can be seen in the 1880 and 1885 Benton County censuses. She reverted to the name Kiesel after William died.

Traer Star Clipper, Friday, July 31, 1903 (Elberon correspondent):
Mrs. Wm. Keasel, who has been sick for some time with pneumonia and kidney trouble, died Wednesday evening. She will be buried Saturday. Funeral at the house at 10 o'clock.

Traer Star Clipper, Friday, August 7th, 1903 (Elberon correspondent):
Mrs. Kesel died at her home Wednesday and was buried at the Irving cemetery Saturday.

Records for Charlotte's children give many different versions of her maiden name, for example: Castel, Karsten, Kassel, Cressel, etc.
