ELINOR DEE-Elinor D. Pruder, NYC socialite passed away on December 23rd, 2020 in West Palm Beach, FL. Daughter to engineering industrialist Charles Marcus attended Parson School of Design, known in the 1960s as top female Fashion Director/Stylist working at Compton Advertising for 7 years. Previously, she was Baroness de la Bouillerie by marriage and lived in France and Switzerland with her children Hubert and Annie. Later, remarried to Newsweek Magazine journalist, Walter Gruber, she settled in London as an Interior Designer creating the famous "Upstairs Shop" with their two daughters Caroline and Juliette now resides in Canada and the UK. Returned to NYC decorating the Metropolitan and NYC Clubs amongst others. Owned and designed homes in NYC, London, Paris, Southampton, LI, and Palm Beach, FL. Sister to Carol Matthau (wife of Walter Matthau), she had friends in every city she lived in, surrounded by glamour and style, worked and socialized with filmmakers, artists, photographers, politicians including Diana Vreeland, Gore Vidal, Milton Green, Jackie O, and many more. A close friend to Truman Capote, he partially based his "Holly Golightly" character on Elinor, a New York city girl. She loved to entertain no matter where she was. Anyone who met her would hold a lasting impression of her energy, beauty, creativity, and generosity. She volunteered at Lenox Hill Hospital, NYC, Parish Art Museum LI, and others. She enjoyed her family and is survived by her four children Hubert de la Bouillerie, Annie Goeke, Caroline Gruber, and Juliette Glazebrook; 7
grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

She will be very missed.
