A memorial service will be held 12pm Saturday November 19, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, Basehor, KS. A visitation will be 10 am – noon prior to the Memorial service. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Ruby was born February 19, 1928, in Deer, Arkansas, the daughter of Lincoln and Pearl (Cowell) Ammons. She worked at the Rudy Patrick Seed Company as well as working in a Bridal shop doing alterations. She was an avid quilter and seamstress and made and altered many of her family members wedding dresses. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Basehor, KS and was active in the WMU. She was preceded in death by her husband Murriel Young in 2005. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Audie, and L.C. Ammons: as well as two sisters, Ineva Ludwig, and Mary Jo Duncan.
Survivors include one son, one daughter, two sisters, six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She had started working on a quilt for the first great-grandchild.
