GROVER CITY--Memorial servces will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Open Door Church, Oceano, for Velma Hazel Brewer, 71, of Oceano, who died Sunday in a San Luis Obispo hospital of natural causes. Rev. Robert Banker will officiate. Burial will be held Friday in the Forest Lawn Sunnyside Cemetery, Long Beach.
Mrs. Brewer was born in Folsom, Okla., and moved to Oceano from Anaheim in September 1985. She retired from the Orange County Sheriff's Department after 18 years as a data input operator. While in Anaheim, she was a Sunday school teacher. She was an honorary life member of the PTA, and attended the Open Door Church, where she was a member of the choir and women's club.
Survivors include her son, Raymond Trosper, Chino; daughters, Kathy Trosper, Oceano, and Donna Metzger, Alta Loma; sisters, Ava Price, Anaheim, amd Sylvia Pieschke, Arroyo Grande; brother, Bill Bonds, Prescott, Ariz.; three grandsons and two granddaughters.
Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
