Faris was born on 22 MAY 1803 in Ohio County, Virginia (now West Virginia), the daughter of John Faris, who was born on 17 MAY 1759 in Down, Northern Ireland and who died on 20 OCT 1838 in Elm Grove, Ohio County, Virginia (now West Virginia); and Agnes Stuart.
