Mr. Jordan was born October 7, 1916, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of David and Lena (Cummings) Jordan where he attended school. He later attended Bowling Green University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He served his county in the United States Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Temple, Texas. On June 17, 1943, he married Mabel Coker in Belton, Texas. He moved to Moody in 1946, from Fort Hood, Texas.
Mr. Jordan was a member of the Moody Masonic Lodge 568 A.F. & A.M, where he served as past master and chaplain for many years. He also was a member of the Scottish Rites Bodies. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Moody since 1946, where he was deacon emeritus.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Jordan of Moody; and one sister, Myrtle Edwards of Terre Haute, Indiana.
Pallbearers were Paul Alexander, Roy Berrier, Jim Brookes, Woodrow Coker, Ivy Goode, and John Poe.
