William Charles Adams, (known as Billy Charles to his mother and friends in Frost, Texas and as Chuck in his older years), was born on November 5, 1932, to Charles Cary and Gertie Pearl Moore-Adams, about one mile due north from Rockdale, Texas. At the time, he had one older sister, Joyce Dell. At about three years of age, his family moved back to their family homestead and farm where his mother grew up, 13 miles outside of Frost, Texas, also known as McCord community, in Navarro County. On April 23, 1941, his mother had his baby sister, Lucy Ann Priscilla, which completed their Adams family in Frost, Texas.

W. C. was well like by so many of peers and was involved in so much in school. He loved sports and played football, basketball and tennis. His sister, Joyce, had given him a tennis racquet. He was also involved in a few One Act plays and won several FFA awards with one of his calfs. He was a character and loved to joke around. As hard as life was on the farm in Frost, Texas, he still had a love and joy for life! People will still talk about that characteristic in him today.

After he graduated from Frost High School in 1950, W. C. moved to the Dallas area and began selling sewing machines. While building his business, he married Marcell Johnson of Purdon, Texas in February 1952, the same year his father, Charles Cary, died of a heart attack while farming in Lubbock, Texas, on October 28.

His first son, William Charles, Jr. was born on June 24, 1953 and then a daughter, Marcia Gail, on July 23, 1955. Due to irreconcilable differences, he and Marcell divorced soon after, with W. C. being awarded custody of their two children.

W.C. then met Patsy Ann Samuels, of Hope, Arkansas, while working in New Mexico in 1958. In addition to W.C.'s son and daughter, Patsy also had a son, Stan. Together, they had their first daughter, Kimberley Charlotte, on March 20, 1959 in Clovis, NM, and then later married in Tarrant County, Texas, on August 9, 1959. They moved their family to Odessa, Texas soon after where another son, Charles Rodney, was born on March 6, 1961. Due to his sewing machine business growing, they moved to Tyler, Texas where another son, Timothy Mark, was born on June 19, 1964. However, after desperately trying to keep their marriage together, it sadly finally ended in a divorce, due irreconcilable differences.

The week of Christmas of 1964, W.C. met Madeline Stamps while she working in his Tyler office. W.C.'s office manager had originally hired her friend, Judy Looney, and several other women from the Tyler Commercial College to work through the holidays. Madeline was not originally hired. Her friend, Judy, asked Madeline to work for her during the Christmas break before she and Judy both left to work for the FBI in Dallas in January. Chuck and Madeline were married on May 22, 1965 and had their first daughter, Carla Deniese, on May 21, 1966, exactly one year later on their anniversary day. Two and half years later, they had twin boys, William Kyle and Charles Lyle, on Feb 2, 1969. The sewing machine mail order company was doing quit well and their family moved to Norman, Oklahoma, where they had their last son, Carey Franklin, on Sept 4, 1975, named after both of his grandfathers, but also born one day after his Grandfather Cary's birthday of September 3.

W.C. or Chuck was called a "Man of Vison" for all that he accomplished in his mail order company and through his farming in West Texas area where he was developing over 8,000 acres. He was quoted in an article, "Everyone has a lot of opportunities in their life, but few really take advantage of the gifts offered."

Tragically, in the early morning hours of November 18, 1978, William Charles died in his private plane, a 1967 Cessna Skyhawk 172H (Tail Id N2757L), after it crashed in Culberson County, in the ghost town of Kent,Texas. He was flying from Pecos with a destination to Van Horn, Texas. Two of his sons, William Charles, Jr. and Charles Rodney, were with him as well and were injured, but did not perish in the accident, as did their father. However, sadly, William Charles, Jr. did pass away four years later in 1987, due to the severe injuries sustained from the accident. It was a heartbreak for all. William Charles Adams Sr. and Jr. were both gone too soon - only 46 and 33 years young, respectively.

Also, ironically, W. C.'s father, Charles Cary, also died in the west Texas town of Lubbock, while farming, due to heart complications.
