Dixie Darlene Sheppard Dodson,76, of Orange, VA passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
She was born August 8, 1945 to the late John Matthew Sheppard and Virginia Purdham Sheppard in Stanley, Virginia.
Dixie is survived by her sons, Elwood MacArthur Dodson, Jr. and John Wendell Dodson, both of Burlington, NC; daughters, Kathy Darlene Dodson Paskal of Midlothian, VA and Regina Faith Dodson Furry of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren, Andrew Dodson, Alex Dodson, David Paskal, Joshua Paskal, Sarah Paskal, Cornell Banks, and Ashley Banks; and sister, Doris Sheppard Harlow; and a host of nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Elwood MacArthur Dodson, Sr.; two brothers, Ronnie Lee Sheppard and John Matthew Sheppard, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 12 p.m. at Orange Assembly of God, 12386 James Madison Highway, Orange, VA 22960, with Pastor Eric Webb officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Graves Chapel Cemetery in Stanley, VA.
