Michael Lynn DeMars, MD, age 78 of Brunswick, passed away on Sunday morning, November 6, 2022 at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. He was born on August 2, 1944 in Brunswick, Michigan to Lawrence A. & Myrtle (Longsdorf) DeMars. Michael graduated from Fremont High School, and then graduated from Aquinas College and worked as an X-ray tech at St Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. He went on to Wayne State University where he graduated with his medical degree, and worked for 10 years as an emergency room doctor at Detroit General Hospital. Michael then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he worked at urgent care centers until his retirement, when he then moved back to Muskegon. Michael is survived by his sister & brothers: Joyce Greiner of Holton, Lawrence "Larry" (Marlene) DeMars, Jr. of Norton Shores, Arthur (Cheryl) DeMars of Holton; brother-in-law, George Pavlovic of Muskegon; and by many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister Beverly Pavlovic. Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, November 11, 2022 at St Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick with Fr. Matthew Barnum and Fr. Pete Schafer as Con-Celebrants. Interment will be in St Michael Catholic Cemetery, and a luncheon and time to visit with the family will immediately follow the service at the church.
