Dwight Lee Wardrip, 79 of Julesburg, Colorado, died on Monday, November 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in Palmer.
Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer Nebraska.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Dwight was born on January 1, 1943 in Gregory, South Dakota to Forrest and Lottie (Houdeshell) Wardrip.
He was raised in St. Charles, South Dakota until he later moved to Winner, South Dakota.
Dwight worked in the Uranium industry in New Mexico for a few years. He also worked at Iowa Beef Processors in Dakota City, Nebraska for over 18 years.
He enjoyed a few years of membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles in South Sioux City, Nebraska and contributed in establishing their Flying Eagle's Clown Unit.
He had quite the sense of humor throughout his life.
Dwight began driving semi truck and he loved it so much that he bought and continued driving his own truck, until health issues forced his semi-retirement.
He energetically started selling and servicing Sunheat heaters.
He was married to Patricia (Pat) Ferguson and they had 3 children together Lonnie, Wade, and Wyatt.
On August 10, 2010, Dwight married Inez (Leetch) Wardrip and welcomed her 4 children, Kimberly, Valerie, Houston, and Paula into his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Inez (Leetch) Harrison Wardrip of Julesburg, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Lori Wardrip of Eufaula, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Lonnie, Jr., Nicole, Spencer, Brandon, Benjamin, Brent, and Heather Hurley, 15 great grandchildren, step-children, Valerie Huestis, Houston Harrison, and Paula Harrison; 12 additional grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Lonnie and Wyatt; step-daughter, Kimberly Hartly; brothers, Lorn, Murton, Elverton, and Delmer; sisters, Omea Arp and Donna Jansen.
