Debbie Golden Glazer age 63, died May 6, 2018. Debbie was born in Des Moines, IA and grew up in Austin Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas in 1976 with a B.S. in nursing and eventually moved to Houston where she worked as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator at Hermann Hospital under the legendary Barry D. Kahan M.D. and wonderful staff and advanced to Head Nurse/Supervisor Renal. She was a member of the Board of Directors of The National Kidney Foundation of S.W.Texas and the Grievance Committee of the State Bar of Texas District 4-A.

She married and relocated to Atlanta in 1990 and worked at Northside Hospital Hospital as Employee Health Supervisor for 27 years and retired in 2017. She was beloved by her patients and staff, and considered them family. In 2005 she was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease,Transverse Myelitis with unknown origin or cure. After rehab at The Shepherd Center she was able to return to work and see her boys-the light of her life-at school activities, sports and attending their college graduation was at the top of the list. Watching them grow up to be the fine young men was such a joy for her, and helped make the pain go away just a little. Debbie was the sweetest, most unselfish and loving human being on the planet and rarely had a harsh word for anyone, never wanted to burden anyone with her medical issues and pain. She lived her life with courage, dignity, compassion and love. Now she is pain free, with the angels and always in our hearts. She was pre-deceased by her mother, Patricia Golden Ferris and father, Allen Golden. Survivors include her loving husband, Jerry Glazer; sons: Stephen Glazer, Atlanta and David Glazer, Roswell, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Elyse and Ken Blair, Birmingham, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Sharon Golden, Austin, TX; grandmother, Martha Golden and so many loving aunts & uncles, nieces and nephews and friends.
