Roanoke, Va, Aug 19. - D J Baldwin, a Norfolk and Western brakeman was killed in the west end yards this morning.
Mr Baldwin, who was boarding at Mrs Trout's No 322 Twelfth street northwest, went over to see when he was "out." It was about 9:30 as he was crossing the track No 1 passenger train west bound struck him. He was knocked down and fell with great force on his head, crushing his skull. No time was lost in taking him up and starting for a physician's office, but he passed away before he reached the place. The body was turned over to John M Oakey and will be sent to Tuggles, Prince Edward county.
Baldwin was thirty-six years old and leaves a wife and two children.
