In a three cornered fight over a horse trade at Rich Fountain, near here, William Winkle, a saloon keeper, shot and killed John M Jett, an ex-convict. Jett had reached toward Winkle with a drawn knife when the shot was fired, Winkle, in turn, was shot by a bystander and seriously wounded
