ROCKVILLE-Kenneth O. "Kenny" Lewis, 76, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at his residence. He was a retired correctional officer with the Putnamville Correctional Facility. He was born March 23, 1946 in Montezuma, Indiana to the late Orville Lewis and Clara A. Catterson Lewis.
He is survived by his companion, Arlene Adgate of Rockville and her son of Orlando, Florida; two sons of North Carolina; two grandsons; one great-grandson; three nieces; two nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and a cousin of Montezuma. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Lewis and sisters, Barbara Fiock and Iris Lewis.
He was a 1964 graduate of Montezuma High School and University of Central Florida receiving a BS in Anthropology with honors. He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lexington as an Air Traffic Controller. He was also employed by US Steel in Gary and the US Postal Service. He was a member of American Legion Fellenzer Post 48, AMVETS Post 61 and the Montezuma Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed traveling the world including Hawaii many times.
Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 2, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville with Pastor Keith B. McIntyre officiating. Burial with military graveside honors by Parke County veterans will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Montezuma. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm Wednesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
