Lewis Garfield McClain, 81, Gettysburg R1, died Sunday afternoon at 12:15 at the Pape Convalescent Home, where he had recently been admitted as a guest.
A native of Sabillasville, he was a son of the late Taylor and Amanda Willard McClain. He was a carpenter and painter and a member of the United Brethren Church here.
Surviving are his widow, the former Lula Hughes Swisher, four sons, Glenn, Waynesboro; Edgar, Greencastle; Donald, Havre de Grace, Md.; Clarence, Charmain, three stepchildren, Fred Swisher, Gettysburg R1, Donald, Gettysburg R1; and Mrs. Levi Ogburn, Blainsburg, Md.; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandghildren, and a sister, Mrs. Fleet Tressler, Sabillasville.
Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Wilson funeral Home, Fairfield, with the Rev. Donald Harper officiating. Intermnet in Jacob's Reformed Church Cemetery.
