Henson William Harbaugh, 50, owner of the Harbaugh Poultry Farm near Sabillasville, Md., was found dead in a barn on the farm early Saturday morning with a shotgun wound in his head.
A Maryland state trooper assigned to the case said the death was definitely a suicide. The body was fond by Lee Harbaugh, brother of the dead man.
It was reported that Harbaugh had been ill and that an injury to his head some time ago when hit in the face by a bulldozer blade had bothered him. He left a brief note to his wife about disposal of property.
He was the son of the late Martin L and Mary B Harbaugh Harbaugh. He was a member of St. Jacobs Reformed Church, near Sabillasville, and Thurmont Grange.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary C Lantz Harbaugh; children, Mrs. Catherine Gelhaus, Baltimore; Martin L, Finksburg, Md.; William M., Havre de Grace; Charles H and Betty Harbaugh, at home; two brothers, Lee, Sabillasville; George Harbaugh, Fairfield; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services at Creager & Son Funeral Home, Thurmont, today at 2:00. Interment in St. Jacob's Cemetery.
