Earl Francis "Frank" O'Boyle, LDS ID KCYW-2MP, was born in Schenectady, New York, July 6, 1913; died in Malaga, Spain, May 22, 1989; buried at Bayview Cemetery, Morehead City, NC.

He was the son of Martha Rachel Antler, M1LF-JLD, #201777271 (born in Port Henry, Essex Co., NY, March 16, 1894; died in Port Henry, Essex Co., NY, June 24, 1976), and James Henry O'Boyle, M1LF-JLM, #80322729 (born Avoca, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, February 24, 1893; died in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, October 3, 1966; buried at Live Oak Memorial Park, Monrovia, Los Angeles Co., California).

Frank married in New Bern, NC, November 3, 1938, Agatha Frances "Sissie" Adams, KC4Y-C9F, daughter of Sarah Elizabeth "Bettie" Gillikin and Macajah Adams. She was born in Salter Path, North Carolina, April 14, 1912; died in Morehead City, North Carolina, March 17, 1975; buried at Bayview Cemetery, Morehead City, NC, March 18, 1975.

Frank spent his youth on his Aunt Stella Wheelock Raines' and Uncle Albert Raines' farm in Port Henry, NY. He went to grade school in Port Henry.

Frank's parents divorced prior to 1930.

Frank was listed as Earl in the 1930 US Census at 433 N. Primrose, Monrovia, Los Angeles Co., California, as: James H. O'Boyle, head 37, divorced, b. PA, father b. PA, mother b. Ireland, Automobile Dealer; *Earl F. O'Boyle, son, 16, single, b. NY; Charles Sharkey, 24, single, roomer, b. MA, Automobile Salesman; and Agnes Fullner, servant, 31, single, b. WA, House Keeper.

Frank went to high school in Monrovia. He enlisted on April 17, 1931, in the Navy at San Diego, California. He finished Radio Operators School and his first assignment was on the destroyer USS Roper. In May 1938, he was stationed at the "Radio Shack", a five-member radio direction finding station at Cape Lookout, NC. While on shore leave, he met his future wife.

Frank was listed in the 1940 US Census at Cape Lookout Station, Carteret Co., NC, as: Earl F. O'Boyle, 26, married, b. New York, Radioman; residence in 1935 San Diego, California; RM2C US Navy.

When first married, they lived at Cape Lookout in a cottage owned by Odell Guthrie of Marshallberg. They built their own cottage, completed in April 1939, and known as the O'Boyle-Brant House (nominated for the National Register, the house is still standing in the Cape Lookout National Seashore historic district).

In May 1941, they left the cape and went wherever the Navy sent them; including Boston, Massachusetts; Norfolk, Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; Gulfport, Mississippi; Los Angeles, California; Charleston, South Carolina; Bath, Maine; Panama Canal Zone; Lima, Peru; Bremerhaven, Germany; New York City; and Brooklyn, NY.

Frank retired from the Navy in April, 1954, as a TELC. He had served in World War II and
Korea.

They settled in Morehead City. In 1965, they bought a home in Oaksmith Acres, where they lived until Cissie's death. Frank moved in September 1983, to the Naval Retirement Home on East Beach Boulevard, Gulfport, Mississippi.

Frank and Sissie had one daughter.
