Walter H. "Butch" Spangler, 75, Greenwood, died Tuesday at Regency Place, Greenwood. Mr. Spangler retired in 1971 as an interior decorator for Village Management, where he had worked 10 years. He was born in Indianapolis and lived in the Indianapolis and Greenwood area most of his life. He was a member of Community Church of Greenwood and Southside Art League. He was an avid sports fan.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, Indianapolis, where friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. until the service Friday. Burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
He was survived by his wife, Edith M. Spangler; a son David C. Spangler; a daughter, Jeanne E. Paredes; a brother, Lewis Spangler, and four grandsons. (The Daily Journal, Franklin, Indiana, Wednesday, April 18, 1984, page 12)
