Alfred L. Hutcheson, a pioneer citizen of the Springtown Community died at the home of his son, Walter Hutcheson Wednesday morning. He was 89 years of age and had been in feeble health for some time and his death was not unexpected.
Mr. Hutcheson was born in Tennessee and grew to manhood there. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War and came to Texas in 1881 and had lived in the Springtown community since that time and has a large circle of friends. He was a member of the Methodist church and had been a member of the Masonic order for more than 60 years.
Mr. Hutcheson's wife died two years ago, and he is survived by one son and one daughter, Walter Hutcheson with whom he made his home and Mrs. E. E. Arp. He is also survived by one half brother, Napoleon Holman of Birchwood, Tennessee, and one sister, Mrs. Angeline Schoolfield of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lester Davenport; Wednesday afternoon at 4:00, following which burial took place in the Springtown Cemetery, under the auspices of the Springtown Masonic Lodge.
