Canton – William Wesley "Bill" Leatherwood, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Bill was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Vinson Woodrow and Ila Kay "Iliok" Pressley Leatherwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ineva Brown and Betty Burr Sharpe; and one brother, Grady Dale Leatherwood. Bill served in the United States Army and in 1998, retired from Champion International Papers with 27 years of service. He was a member of Pigeon River Masonic Lodge 386 AF & AM where he served as Past Master.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edna Lee Leatherwood; three daughters, Revonda Stephens (Benny), of Canton, Kay Mann (Michael), of Taylors, South Carolina, and Annette Hall (Gerald) of Canton; four grandchildren, Kaylyn Stephens, Michael Ensley, John Hall (Lexus), Brian Hall (Tabitha); and five great-grandchildren, Chandler, Carter, Brynnlee, Hannah, and McKenzie.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Crestview Baptist Church with the Reverend Dan Page officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Masonic rites will be presented by Pigeon River Lodge 386 AF & AM at the cemetery.
