James Thomas Adams, 78, of the Bruceville Community, passed away Tuesday at his home after a prolonged illness. Born in Dyer County in 1943, he was the son of Ophelia Ann Adams, also of Bruceville.
Surviving Mr. Adams are his wife of 40 years, Betty Broglin Adams and his four children, Timothy (Stacy) Adams, Randal (Monica) Adams, both of Bartlett, Tammy (Tommy) Ray, Deonna (Luis) Enochs, both of Bruceville, Lisa Daniels of Atoka, and a brother Danny (Karen) Adams, of Halls. He leaves 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren to further his memory.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his mother Ophelia and brothers Ed Adams, Billy Adams and sister Caroline Riddick. Also preceding him was a son, Kevin Adams, a niece Paige Beasley, a nephew, Robert Riddick and a great granddaughter, Abby Enochs.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War and after his honorable discharge from the military, he made his profession as a Master Tool and Die maker for Anderson-Hickey of Halls. Later he partnered with his wife to run a successful ceramic shop. He was a member of the Palestine U.M. Church.
Visitation will be held October 26, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm at Halls Funeral Home 109 N. Church St. Halls TN. Funeral services held at 11am October 27, 2022 at Halls Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Ray Officiating, with burial to follow at Palestine Cemetery. Pallbearers called to serve were grandsons Justin Adams, Cody Enochs, Stephen Goodman, Cameron Adams, Jacob Adams and Felton Adams.
