Had Made Home In Palo Alto For Thirty Years
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct 11.--(AP)--Mrs. Annie Heald, 88, maternal aunt of President hoover, died today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. G. Ranch in East Palo Alto. She had been ill for several months.
Mrs. Heald had resided in Palo Alto for more than thirty years, coming here from Santa Cruz after the death of her husband, Hiel Heald, farer and lumber dealer in that community.
She was born in Toronto, Ontario, but spent the greater part of her life in the United States. Mrs. Heald lived in West Branch, Iowa at the time of President Hoover's birth in a small Quaker settlement, later moving with her husband to Kansas and finally migrating to this state.
Surviving are a brother, Pennington Minthorn of Los Angeles and seven children; They are Mrs. Rench, Mrs. Julius Harvey of Edwin, Washington; Mrs. J. M. Goodwin of Atherton; Howard Heald of Turlock, Roy and Arthur Heald of Palo Alto and Elmer Heald of El Centro, district of Imperial county.
