Dorothy "Dot" Bragg Headden White, age 102, passed away on October 23, 2022 in Nashville, TN. She was born December 8, 1919 in Hawkinsville, Georgia to Augusta (Gussie) and Lowell Bragg. Dot graduated from Hawkinsville High School as salutatorian and attended Georgia State College for Women. She worked in the State Department of Education in Atlanta and met Slick Headden, who was with the State Department of Education in Nashville, and the rest is the wonderful history of the Headden family.

Dot was always the life of the party and perfect hostess as she entertained her family and friends with her quick wit, having the gift of edifying and encouraging and making everyone feel so special. She loved sharing her impersonations of Minnie Pearl and was sought after by community groups for many years. Her most recent performance was at age 101 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Community from her wheelchair dressed in full Minnie Pearl costume. Her hat, with hanging tag, was given to her by Sarah Cannon as an encouragement to continue the legacy of the Minnie Pearl character.

Dot was a faithful follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leaning on Him with complete trust through every trial and teaching her children to seek Him, surrender to Him and to follow Him daily. She loved her Baptist church where she served as Sunday School teacher of teenage girls, offered secretarial office help, participated in the JOY (Just Older Youth) choir, and was a dedicated prayer warrior and ambassador for Christ among her neighbors, friends and family.

Along with her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Stockbridge; her brother, Lowell (Bubba) Bragg; her first husband and the father of her children, Harmon Clay (Slick) Headden and her second husband Linson Allen White (died 01-22-1991 age 73); her daughter, Ruth Lee (Don) Adams; her sons-in-law, Jim Henderson and Carroll Young; and her grandson, Clay Adams.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Young, Cheri Henderson (Lewis) Snyder, Henry (Betsy) Headden, Ginger (Alan) Mize; step-son, John (Ellen) White; step-daughter, Jackie White; grandchildren, Gray Adams, Patrick Adams, Julie Adams, Lee Ann Adams (William) Fuller, David (Debbie) Young, Steve Young, Sharon Young, Melanie Adams Pyle, Jay Henderson, Dan (Mary) Henderson, David (Sarah) Henderson, Clay Headden, Carrie (Brian) Headden Layson, Rob Mize, Hunter(Catherine) Mize, Steven White, Meredith White (Daniel) Ward and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park at 1:00 on Thursday, October 27. Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm at Woodmont Baptist Church, 2100 Woodmont Blvd, Nashville, TN 37215, followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00. Her grandsons Jay, Dan and David Henderson, Clay Headden, Rob and Hunter Mize will serve as Pallbearers.
